Dr. Scott Noorda

Dr. Scott Noorda is the Founder & CEO of Resolve Medical, Creator of the Brainlift Neuroprotective Program and Co-Author of Power Couple Habits

He is also a board-certified family medicine physician and an Institute for Functional Medicine Practitioner.

When Scott’s dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, it ignited a fire in him to uncover the true ingredients to longevity. His Instagram page is a personal favorite of ours and is full of reels on the right foods, movements, behaviors and holistic treatments that can unlock more healthy years.

We reached out to Dr. Noorda when we saw his post about the benefits of a family group text, and he agreed to answer a few of our questions. Read our conversation with him below.

S&S: Dr. Noorda, your interest in Alzheimer research and longevity stemmed from a personal family crisis. Why is longevity and health-span so important? What does it mean to you?

Dr. Noorda: Longevity and health-span are deeply personal for me. My dad passed from Alzheimer’s after years of decline and losing his ability to do the things he loved along with his ability to remember the people he loved.

Longevity isn’t just about living longer—it's about living well. It’s ensuring that those extra years are full of vitality, clarity, and independence. Health-span, the period of life spent in good health, free from chronic disease, is the ultimate goal. It means being able to enjoy life fully, to engage in meaningful activities, and to maintain strong relationships. For me, it's about giving people the opportunity to not just survive, but to thrive in their later years.

S&S: Loneliness and isolation are a growing health concern today... why is that? What health effects are we seeing?

Dr. Noorda: Humans are inherently social beings, and when we lack connection, it can lead to a cascade of negative health effects. We're seeing increased rates of depression, anxiety, and even cognitive decline associated with chronic loneliness. The absence of social interaction can also contribute to a weakened immune system, higher blood pressure, and a greater risk of cardiovascular disease. Essentially, loneliness can be as detrimental to our health as smoking or obesity. It's a silent epidemic that needs urgent attention.

S&S: How does community and connection lead to a healthier life?

Dr. Noorda: Being part of a community provides us with a sense of belonging, purpose, and support. Social interactions stimulate our brains, reduce stress, and promote emotional well-being. When we have strong connections, we’re more likely to engage in healthy behaviors, such as regular exercise, good nutrition, and preventive healthcare. Family and community relationships also offer a safety net during difficult times, reducing the risk of mental health issues and promoting resilience.

S&S: What are some of the best ways to increase connection?

Dr. Noorda: Increasing connection can be as simple as reaching out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while or as intentional as joining a club or group with shared interests. Regularly participating in community events, volunteering, or even starting a group around a common hobby can foster new relationships. Technology also offers avenues for connection, from video calls with family to online communities centered around shared passions. Another powerful method is practicing active listening and being present in conversations—this deepens existing relationships and builds new ones.

S&S: You made a reel about the importance of a family group chat. What benefits do you see from this form of connection?

Dr. Noorda: A family group chat allows for real-time sharing of life’s moments—big or small—and fosters a sense of closeness even when we are not physically together. The simple act of sharing a funny meme, a photo, or an update on your day can reinforce bonds and create a virtual space where everyone feels included and supported. It’s a great way to maintain daily contact, provide emotional support, and stay engaged in each other’s lives.

S&S: What does resilience mean? Why is it important?

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity, to adapt, and to grow stronger from challenges. It’s not about avoiding difficulties, but rather about facing them with a mindset that allows you to persevere. Resilience is crucial because life is unpredictable, and challenges are inevitable. It’s the foundation of mental toughness and is essential for maintaining long-term health and well-being.

S&S: Do you believe a synchronized supper club can provide a sense of belonging and connection that lead to a healthier life?

Dr. Noorda: I think a synchronized supper club is a fun and unique opportunity to blend the benefits of social connection with the pleasure of sharing a meal.

Thank you, Dr. Noorda for your time and your work. We can’t wait to put more of your advice into practice!
